Variety is the Spice of Life at Derby…

As work continues on the new purpose-built site at Derby, the depot team remains focussed on fulfilling an extensive array of new contracts.

The latest contracts are indicative of an era of expansion and continuing growth as businesses look forward with optimism creating spacious offices and improved facilities for staff and customers.

Portable Offices’ Operations Manager, Bob Davies, commented:

“The contract landscape has evolved from the provision of Covid-related units to more commercial and educational orders with increasing emphasis on bespoke modular buildings.”

These include a high-end bespoke toilet block (seen below) for a prestigious Garden Centre in Harrogate which incorporates discreet plumbing hidden behind marble-effect panels and top-of-the-range toilet and washing facilities. The external façade is clad in natural larch panels to blend in with the picturesque arboreal situation.

And moving away from arboreal splendour to nature in the real sense of the word, the team are looking forward to establishing a new complex of staff welfare and canteen facilities at a zoo and safari park in East Anglia.

Keeping with the theme of the ‘great outdoors,’ one of the latest contracts is a sales office for a local start-up business offering outdoor pursuits.

More units for offices for Burton Hospital have been provided as part of an ongoing contract which has seen several buildings established and now provides a four building stacked and linked complex providing spacious office accommodation for administration departments.

Bob continued: “It’s encouraging to see so many business expansions as we emerge from Covid lockdowns and restrictions. In addition to the many bespoke contracts, we are experiencing an uptake in classroom places.

“We also have a building going out destined to provide an office suite at a centre for adults with learning difficulties and a viewing office at an underground vehicle test track tunnel to allow car owners to view their vehicles under testing conditions. So, there are some really innovative and unusual contracts coming in.

“The continued demand and enquiries have ensured the yard has stayed very busy and we have added a new yard operative, Alex Grainger, who will be providing additional support in the yard,” Bob commented.

Portable Offices remains committed to finding product and service solutions for all its existing and new customers.
