Portable Offices Celebrates Double Success at the 2026 Modern Methods of Construction Awards

Award-Winning Recognition for Innovation, Leadership and Customer-Focused Delivery

Portable Offices is proud to celebrate an unforgettable day at the Modern Methods of Construction Awards, held at the The Grand Hotel Birmingham on 7th May 2026, where our team was recognised amongst some of the most respected names in offsite construction, modular innovation and the wider built environment.

The event marked a particularly proud milestone for Portable Offices as we were awarded Best Temporary Building Project – Private Sector for our work with First Hydro Company at Dinorwig Power Station… one of the UK’s most strategically important energy infrastructure sites.

Award-Winning Delivery at Dinorwig Quarry…

Located deep within the mountains of North Wales, Dinorwig is no ordinary project environment.

Operating within a live, highly secure and technically complex hydroelectric facility, our customer required more than just additional space. They needed a trusted partner capable of understanding the operational challenges of the site, the importance of safety, and the need to deliver high-quality facilities with minimal disruption.

Working collaboratively with the customer and project stakeholders, Portable Offices designed, supplied and installed a modular solution that supported ongoing operational activity at one of the most unique engineering environments in the UK.

The project demonstrated everything that modern modular construction can achieve when delivered with care – technical expertise, logistical precision, collaborative planning and a relentless focus on the customer’s operational needs.

To see this project recognised by our peers is something we are all immensely proud of.

Celebrating Leadership…

The awards event also brought further reason to celebrate, with Adrian Witty receiving an individual industry achievement award in recognition of his longstanding contribution to Portable Offices, the modular sector and the wider industry… and a very fitting way to celebrate his retirement.

Adrian’s leadership, integrity and people-first approach have helped shape not only the business we are today, but the culture that we continue to drive forward with new Managing Director Chris Woollard.

Proud to Stand Alongside the Best in Education

We were also proud to be shortlisted in the highly competitive Project of the Year – Education (Secondary and Higher) category for our work at The John of Gaunt School in Trowbridge.

While we didn’t take home the category this year, to see the project recognised alongside so many exceptional examples of modern educational infrastructure was an achievement in itself… and a reminder of the growing role modular construction continues to play in shaping the future of UK education.

A Reflection of How Far We’ve Come…

As a family-run business, moments like this are never about one individual, one depot or one project.

They are built on the collective effort of our people… from our transport teams, installers, project managers and operations specialists, through to our yard teams, customer support, finance and sales colleagues collaborating across every depot.

Every conversation.
Every challenge solved.
Every delivery planned.
Every customer supported.

This recognition reflects how far Portable Offices has come… but more importantly, it reflects the values that continue to take us forward.

As modern methods of construction continue to evolve, we remain committed to doing what we do best: putting customers first, solving challenges, and creating environments where people and businesses can thrive.
