Derby Depot Makes an Impact:

It’s been another rewarding season for our Derby depot, delivering standout solutions across sport, education, community and construction – with some impressive logistics and a generous dose of heart along the way.

Kicking Off with Football Success

Derby depot has continued its strong connection with football, recently providing a modular building for Ipswich Town Football Club’s women’s team. The new unit joins the existing therapy room and office space previously installed at the club’s training ground, further supporting the development of its academy players.

Meanwhile, the team were also back at Stoke City FC, once again supplying welfare facilities to support the club’s expanding operations.

Supporting Schools and SEND Education

Portable buildings are proving essential for the education sector – especially when time and space are limited. One example was the installation of extra classroom accommodation for Ashley School, supporting special educational needs students. To ensure the building blended seamlessly into its surroundings, the unit was vinyl wrapped – demonstrating how practicality and sensitivity can go hand-in-hand.

Squeezing into Tight Spaces

Sometimes, the real challenge isn’t what we deliver – but how we deliver it.

A recent project for Tanwood Construction involved navigating a stately home restoration site in Loughborough. The task? Install a cabin through a narrow archway with barely an inch to spare on either side.

Depot Manager Bob Davies said:
“We frequently have to place units into very tight spots, but this one really tested our limits. There were a few tense moments, but the team pulled it off perfectly.”

Community, Creativity & Signature Style

The Derby team has also recently delivered a uniquely designed portable building to serve as a place of worship in Walsall. Clad in timber with porthole windows, the building resembles a modern-day ark – ready to serve its community for years to come.

Closer to home, a new youth club was created using a 40ft unit, providing a safe and welcoming space for young people in the area.

And with our Signature Collection gaining momentum, the team installed a contemporary marketing suite for Homes by Stirlin in Lincolnshire. The open-plan space includes a kitchen and toilet, finished to our highest specification – helping the developer make a bold first impression on their new site.

Charity of the Year: Upper Moreton Activities Centre

Perhaps the most meaningful project for the Derby team has been their work with Upper Moreton Activities Centre – a CIC offering rural-based learning for vulnerable adults and children with learning difficulties.

The team supplied a series of wooden clad buildings to create classrooms, offices, a kitchen and toilets for the centre’s attendees.

And it didn’t stop there. The team made Upper Moreton their chosen charity for the year – raising over £1,000 through raffles and fundraising, and even arranging the donation of essential tools and a lawnmower.

Bob added:
“All our team worked really hard to generate valuable support for the centre. It’s a cause close to our hearts, and we’re proud to have played a small part in their mission.”
