New faces, award-winning spaces & community spirit at Sandycroft…
Exciting Times at Sandycroft
It’s full steam ahead at Portable Offices’ Sandycroft depot as the team gears up for the traditional summer rush. With increasing pressure on housebuilders to meet government targets for new homes, many developers are turning to portable buildings as early-phase sales and marketing suites to bring their sites to life from day one.
Driving Demand in Housing and Beyond
Anwyl Homes is a prime example of how modular marketing suites are making a difference. Their Sales Director, Matthew Gould, explained:
“Our sales and marketing suites play a vital role in increasing footfall on to our new sites before the homes are completed. We fit the units out to showcase the upcoming properties and each one has a media wall complete with site plans showing the various plots, house types and interior imagery together with samples of kitchens and tiles for easy client selection. It works brilliantly.”
Meanwhile, transport and logistics companies are also recognising the value of high-spec temporary buildings. Great Bear Distribution recently hired one of our Signature meeting rooms for its Daresbury site after seeing the benefits first-hand. Complete with a built-in TV and a range of premium features, it made the ideal space for team collaboration.
Award-Winning Innovation
The growing popularity of the Signature Collection can be traced back to its roots – Sandycroft’s own award-winning office complex. Recognised at the 2025 MMC Awards for Achieving Net Zero in a Project, the building showcases cutting-edge design with impressive sustainability credentials.
Depot Manager, Susan Holland, commented:
“We are delighted with our success, which is a mark of considerable achievement. The Signature Collection really reflects the quality and innovation we’re proud to offer.”
Bespoke Solutions for Every Sector
A recent project for Crown Highways, a specialist civil engineering and lighting contractor, showcased Sandycroft’s ability to tailor solutions. The company needed extra space at a new site in Tyldesley, Manchester, including offices, a kitchen and meeting room — all linked seamlessly to their existing building.
Our team designed a three-bay modular building with a bespoke layout and open aperture to create continuity with their existing facility. From enquiry to installation, the process was smooth, and the client was thrilled with the end result.
Welcoming New Faces
Sandycroft has also seen growth in the team.
- Sophie Franks joined as Accounts Assistant, and recently climbed Mount Snowdon, raising ÂŁ360 for Breast Cancer Now (Portable Offices national charity for the year).
- Michelle Reilly has joined as Yard Operative, strengthening our capacity to refurbish units as demand grows.
- In the office, Rhian has taken on the role of Marketing Analytical Manager. With a background in marketing analytics and a degree in computer science, she’ll be working closely with Neil to develop data-driven insights that will shape future marketing initiatives.
Rhian shared:
“It’s a really exciting time to join Portable Offices. There’s a strong platform in place and so much potential to build on. Everyone’s been so welcoming – I’m thrilled to be part of the team.”
Raising Funds with a Slice of Fun
The team’s community spirit is as strong as ever. Sandycroft recently hosted a Bake Off-style Cake Day, raising £160 for local charity Hope House. The delicious event saw Clare Cartlidge take home first place for her standout chocolate orange cake.
