Business Growth, Fast Turnarounds and New Faces at Bristol Depot…
The summer season has been full steam ahead for our Bristol depot, with a renewed focus on business development and a string of successful contracts delivered at pace.
Welcoming Mark Bendelow to the Team
A key highlight has been the arrival of Mark Bendelow, who joined in June as Senior Business Development Manager. With over 25 years of experience in the portable buildings industry, Mark has brought a fresh burst of energy and strategic focus to the depot.
Depot Operations Manager Justin Hardwell commented:
“Mark has already made a big impact – his experience and vision are exactly what we need to take things to the next level. He shares our values and is helping drive our business development efforts with real clarity and momentum.”
Fast Response, Real Results
With new enquiries increasing, the depot has placed particular emphasis on its refurbishment programme – building up a strong stock of quality units on three-day ready status.
One standout project this summer was a fast-turnaround solution for Coleg Y Cymoedd – a Welsh college supporting young adult learners. The Bristol team pulled together to deliver a five bay modular building for workshops and an additional five classroom units in just 11 weeks.
From the initial call on 7th May to full handover on 24th July, the 50ft x 33ft double workshop and five 48ft x 13.6ft classrooms were all in place at the Nantgarw campus – ready for the start of the academic year.
It was a brilliant example of teamwork across departments, from initial enquiry to final install.
Leading the Way on Major Projects
The depot also played a leading role in one of Portable Offices’ highest profile jobs of the year – the 25 bay modular installation at The John of Gaunt School in Wiltshire. The project, overseen by Head of Sales Neil Christie, demonstrated the best of our offsite capabilities – with Bristol taking a hands-on role in refurbishment and delivery.
Continued Partnerships with Major Developers
It’s also been a busy season for sales and marketing suites, with the Bristol team continuing to support ongoing partner Vistry Countryside Partnerships (formerly Bovis Homes Group). The depot’s commitment to quality and service has helped keep momentum strong across multiple developments.
Looking Ahead with Optimism
With an eye firmly on the future, the team is building strong new client relationships while continuing to deliver for returning customers.
Justin summed it up:
“We’re proud of the way the team here continues to raise the bar. From longstanding client partnerships to new business opportunities, everyone’s playing their part to make sure we exceed expectations.”
