Celebrating Success, Team Spirit & Outstanding Projects…
Celebrations & Milestones
Sandycroft depot has had a lot to celebrate recently. Along with a busy order book, the office has witnessed staff promotions, a wedding and charity appeals success.
Liam Moores, Operations Co-ordinator, married Gemma on the 24th August at Highfield Hall Hotel, their two year-old son, Rory was page boy. Liam and Gemma met through work and have been together for 10 years. Liam proposed in 2022 during a candle lit dinner on a cabana in Turkey.
Team Growth & Career Development
Laura Mackay has been promoted from Projects Co-ordinator to Assistant Projects Manager (APM).
Depot Manager, Susan Holland, said:
“We are delighted to share Laura’s successful career development. Her new APM role will see her delivering future projects in the North West whilst still based at Sandycroft.”
“Laura’s recent successes working with Philippa [Coates] on the modular install at Heathfield (5 Bay) and Craig [Peers] for Faggan & Whalley (11 Bay) have been instrumental in enhancing and broadening her knowledge at the ‘coal-face,’ giving her valuable hands-on experience and face to face management of contractors and liaising with end users.”
In addition to delivering full project life-cycles, Laura is also committed to furthering her education and professional development. She recently added to her CITB Health & Safety accreditation by enrolling in the NVQ Diploma in Construction Contracting Operations Management (Construction) course this year. This commitment to continuous professional development bears testament to her dedication and drive.
Giving Back: Afternoon Tea for Breast Cancer Now
Sandycroft also hosted an Afternoon Tea Event for Breast Cancer Now which raised a total of £95.00. Everyone at Sandycroft took part in the cake sales, fun and party games.
The team also hosted a Bake a Cake competition, where Mark Jones took first place for his homemade Lemon Cheese Cake and Laura’s chocolate orange cake in second place.
Project Highlights
Susan summarised some of the recent contract successes:
“We have carried out two noteworthy modular installations one being Heathfield School and the other for Fagan & Whalley.”
Ian Smith, Portable Offices Sales Manager, worked with Truline Construction to provide four temporary classrooms, cloakrooms and offices at St Aloysius School in Liverpool while refurbishments within the school took place.
A tight time frame which required installation during the summer holidays was one of the main challenges.
The units were fully refurbished with eco solar reflection glazing and eco heaters on timers.
In St Helens, Customer Account Manager, Katie Peers oversaw a prestigious installation for leading glass and glazing solutions company, Pilkington.
The company wanted an upmarket unit to provide a canteen facility for its shift workers who enjoy producing delicious home-cooked meals between shifts. The unit which provided a large 32’ kitchen complete with extractor fans, smoke detectors and state-of-the-art oven housing, was craned into purpose-built space.
Depot Manager, Susan Holland, commented:
“Our team is really pulling together to bring a variety of challenging contracts to fruition. We are delighted to see so many continuing their professional development and bring new levels to skills to their role.”
