Growth, Achievements, and a Strong Year Ahead…
As we kick off the new year, the team at Portable Offices’ Bristol Depot has been making strides in training, team development, and operational efficiency. With a focus on skill-building, safety, and a growing refurbishment programme, the depot is well-positioned for a productive and successful year ahead.
Commitment to Safety and Professional Development
Health and safety remain a top priority at Bristol Depot, and this has been reinforced by recent qualifications achieved by key team members. Yard Foreman, Luke Turner, has successfully completed his Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS) qualification, while Depot Operations Manager, Justin Hardwell, has earned his Site Manager Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) certification.
Both qualifications, accredited by the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB), are highly regarded in the construction sector and demonstrate our ongoing commitment to maintaining the highest standards of site safety. Ensuring our team is fully trained and up to date with the latest regulations is crucial to delivering safe, efficient, and high-quality service across our operations.
Expanding the Team and Building Expertise
With an increasing focus on building refurbishment, Bristol Depot has been steadily growing its team to support the demand. A new multi-skilled Yard Operative, Steve Gray, has joined the team, bringing fresh energy to an already motivated and productive workforce.
Steve, alongside Luke Turner, has also achieved his PASMA qualification, which focuses on the safe use and management of scaffold towers and low-level access equipment. This additional training ensures the team is well-equipped to work efficiently while prioritising health and safety on-site.
Depot Operations Manager, Justin Hardwell, commented: “With more units coming down to Bristol for refurbishment, we continue to have an ever-growing need for a multi-skilled team, and Steve is already proving himself to be a valuable asset.”
Strengthening the Sales Team
Bristol’s office team has also welcomed a new addition, with Sales Customer Account Manager, Abdi Abdullahi, joining from a sales background outside of our industry. Although new to the sector, Abdi has already begun making an impact and contributing to the business, strengthening our ability to serve both new and existing clients effectively.
A New Arrival to Celebrate
It’s not just the depot that’s growing… there’s also been a new addition to the Portable Offices family! Madeleine Hepburn, who joined the operations team in March, has recently welcomed a baby boy, Oskar, born in October 2024. A huge congratulations to Madeleine and her family!
Looking Ahead to a Strong 2025
Following a productive 2024, Bristol Depot is set to capitalise on its strong business base in the year ahead. The team successfully managed a variety of contracts from both new and repeat clients and has been busy quoting on a number of exciting projects.
Reflecting on the past year and looking forward to what’s next, Justin Hardwell shared: “We had a fantastic mix of contracts in 2024, and we’re already seeing plenty of opportunities ahead. With a strong team in place and a growing refurbishment programme, we’re in a great position to have another productive year in 2025.”
