Luton Helping Companies to Emerge from Lockdown

Luton depot has been proud to help the NHS with the provision of pop-up testing and vaccination centres and is now helping businesses to look forward to operating in a post-Covid world as they follow the roadmap to lifting lockdown.

Some high profile contracts they have supported include an electric vehicle retail outlet, a well-known vehicle hire company and expanded staff facilities at a Network Rail site which included a series of stacked and linked units.

The depot also recently provided Lister Hospital with a six-bay complex and an additional three Units for Covid-19 testing.

This is in addition to a new extension to a medical centre in Marden Village, Kent.

Luton Sales Manager, Neil Christie, said:

“It has been a challenging time for everyone. As lockdown has forced many members of our team into new home working practices, so we have established new ways of working remotely through the extensive use of cutting-edge media. Our initial site visits can often be undertaken by video and we are communicating internally and externally via Zoom, Teams and Google Duo. It has become a highly effective communication tool.”

Luton office has been in the enviable position of needing to recruit a new salesperson to assist with its busy order book. After an extensive search, Craig Wilson joined the company in the new year as Customer Account Manager.

Previously employed as a sales manager for an events company, Craig had seen first-hand the devastating impact of Covid-19 on the events and hospitality sector. Initially furloughed and then made redundant in the autumn, Craig was delighted to join the Portable Offices’ team.

He said: “The training process is highly effective and the team here have provided plenty of support. I am really enjoying my new role.”
