Derby Office responds to Covid Test Centre challenge

Derby office has responded to a massive nationwide challenge to supply portable buildings for Covid-19 tests around the country.

Portable Offices’ Operations Manager, Bob Davies, commented:

“We are fortunate to be one of the companies helping the NHS during these dire times. Over the past couple of months, we have been tasked with developing test centres for Covid-19  which include testing areas, hygienic changing facilities, staff canteens, washrooms, security and storage areas.

“The five units for each test centre are being situated in strategic locations all around the country and are designed to provide targeted testing on a rapid response basis to areas with high numbers of cases.”

Despite the lockdown situation, Derby office has been working at full capacity with staff home working and coming into the office on a rotation basis where strict hygiene and social distancing measures are in place.

Bob continued: “The yard team is meeting the challenge of developing the mobile test centres and we are motivated and all working hard for the same result – to get these centres on-site on time.”

Other contracts include a high-end modular building for a local fencing company comprising offices and welfare suites.
