Bristol Office Continues to Respond to the Covid Challenge

With continuing demand from NHS hospitals and surgeries requiring additional consulting and testing areas and businesses expanding facilities to accommodate staff distancing measures, Portable Offices’ Bristol office has risen to the Covid Challenge.

Bristol office is back to full pre-lockdown levels and is pushing ahead with an increasingly busy order book.

Manager, Kate Kirk commented: “Like most of the country we have been continuing to adapt to Covid and its demands.

“We have continued to be busy with healthcare and have just installed two 32ft x 10ft medical specification units to create four separate consultation rooms.

“We have also been busy with schools requiring extra space and have recently installed three temporary classrooms and four washroom/toilets. It was a complex job as there were no supplies on site so we needed to provide and install septic tanks.”

In September the depot recruited Ralph Rhodes as Yard Foreman and Richard Merchant as a new National Sales Manager.

Ralph previously worked for a British multinational infrastructure group based in the UK with capabilities in construction services, support services and infrastructure investments. He has a wealth of experience in all areas and specialises in glazing. He has just become a father to son, Lochlan, who arrived shortly after Ralph started with Portable Offices.

Kate said: “Despite the lack of sleep Ralph has fitted perfectly into the team, turning his hand to all that is asked of him and getting to know the world of cabins.

“Someone who already knows the world of cabins is our new National Sales Manager, Richard Merchant, who left a similar position to join Portable Offices. Richard has worked with numerous cabin suppliers and has decades of experience which he is now using to grow the Avonmouth depot.”

Richard commented on his new role: “I am elated to be part of the Portable Office family. All have made me very welcome. Having been in the accommodation hire industry for over 20 years, it;s refreshing to work for a company that values you and operates to traditional qualities such as quality of product, service, and exceeding customers’ expectations. I am very positive about the future of the company and my tenure. Here’s to the future.”

Dennis Gay departs in January 2021 and all of the team both at Bristol and beyond wish him a happy and healthy retirement.
