A Marathon of a Summer for Leeds Portable Offices!

The team at Leeds portable offices has enjoyed a busy summer with new clients and repeat business providing some interesting challenges.

stunning new looking nursery

Notable amongst these, was a project working with Children’s Corner in Farsley, to provide a stunning new looking nursery. This included fully re-cladding in beautiful cedar the old and dated timber textured externals, new suspended ceilings and lighting, new flooring, new windows and door. For those children who were away over the summer period, they couldn’t believe the difference on their return.

Also in the education sector, was the urgent supply of a single classroom to an academy in Ingleby Barwick. This took eight weeks from the initial enquiry to completion on site.
Leeds Office Manager, Becky Scholefield, commented: “The school was in urgent need of an additional classroom and fortunately, we had exactly the right solution for them and we were able to install it before the new school term started.”

Still in the education arena, Leeds installed a modular building onto a school site in Rotherham as an afterschool facility.
Leeds also supplied a seven bay modular building to a new customer in Leeds who was relocating and needed a cost-effective building solution within a tight timeframe.

Changing Places

When a cricket club in Sheffield needed new changing facilities for the 2019 season, Portable Offices once again had a perfect solution.
And emergency changing facilities were provided to a Sunderland Football Club after a fire devastated the previous building.

Becky continued: “We also hit the high life this summer when we were approached by a film company looking for changing facilities for a location shoot. In this instance, we sent a cabin to Sheffield – twice – for use on the film set of “Everybody’s talking about Jamie” starring Richard E Grant.

“And, we won a high spec office on the back of the Rolls Royce building. They liked what they saw and want something very similar, delivery due to Sheffield in approx. 10 weeks time.”
There has also been a lot of additional work upgrading and refurbishing units which has resulted in an increased workload for the yard team. Further investment in yard facilities has seen the introduction of a new two bay unit to provide the latest workshop space for the team and now there is also a new starter in the yard – Paul Carter – who’s fitting in very well, and will help with the additional orders and also the quest to get more “ready stock” in the yard,

Account manager, Lee, took up his own challenge this summer, taking part in the Great North Run and is also running the Hull Marathon shortly.
