20 Years of “Strictly” Success and Diverse Projects

Business News | Luton Depot | October 2024

Luton Depot has been celebrating a productive autumn, delivering high-quality facilities to clients in the entertainment, education, and business sectors. From its role in the 20th anniversary season of Strictly Come Dancing to providing contemporary learning spaces, the team is keeping busy with a diverse portfolio.

Stepping Up for Strictly’s 20th Anniversary

For the 10th consecutive year, Luton Depot provided studio and changing facilities for the BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing, marking the show’s 20th season. This year, the team delivered a range of units for the celebrities, dancers, and behind-the-scenes crew, helping ensure everything runs smoothly for the nation’s favourite dance show.

Supporting the Film and TV Sector

Luton Depot has also made an impact in the film industry, supplying two double-storey stacks and a 20-foot unit for a film project in Hoddesdon. These units provided essential space for the production crew, demonstrating the depot’s versatility in supporting high-demand entertainment projects.

Enhanced Education Spaces

Education facilities continue to be a focal point, with Luton delivering a modern, timber-clad classroom for St Mary’s School in Ascot. This warm, airy classroom will support Duke of Edinburgh Award students, replacing an outdated cabin with a comfortable and inspiring learning environment.

In North West London, the Southover Partnership also benefitted from three new units designed for one-on-one teaching with students who have additional needs. These custom spaces are ideal for focused educational support.

New Facilities for Walton Village

Luton Depot supported community development with a new sports pavilion in Walton Village. This two-bay building provides a kitchen, storage, and changing facilities, enhancing the village’s recreational offerings for local residents.

Continued Business Support

In addition to these projects, Luton Depot maintained its strong relationships within the business sector, providing marketing suites for property developers and standalone suites for car hire operators.

Looking Back on a Year of Success

Luke Foster-Poole, Depot Operations Manager, has now been at the helm for a full year. Reflecting on recent successes, Luke said, “We are incredibly lucky to have such a diverse customer base with many rewarding client contracts. The last few months have seen cabins come into their own, with less emphasis on modular buildings. Each project has its own challenges and rewards.”
