Sandycroft Prepares for School Rush…

A busy winter has been followed by an even busier start to summer for Sandycroft with lots of classroom enquiries and some challenging contracts to quote on.

The notable contract at Compass Minerals in Winsford, Cheshire has concluded after being extended to include a further two on two extension and a gatehouse building.

The earlier replacement office space and two storey extension came complete with external cedar cladding and floor to ceiling glazed units to provide a contemporary façade.

There’s also the usual steady flow of orders coming in for marketing suites for housing developments.

In addition, there has been a contract for sports changing facilities at a large housing development in Featherstone, Wolverhampton. The development includes two new playing fields and the changing facilities are housed within a state-of-the-art cedar clad building.

In the north west, nursery and classroom orders are being fulfilled. Also, in Chester City Centre at Grosvenor Park, units have been provided for changing room facilities, front of office, lounge and kitchen and stage management at Storyhouse the open air theatre, which is an event Portable Offices has been involved with for several years.

A large relocation turnkey contract has been completed at Shotton Mill. Following the relocation, three additional modular buildings were provided – a 10 bay for operations, six bay for accounts & purchasing and two bay for IT.

Susan Holland is now several months into her manager role and is enjoying the variety of challenges coming her way: “We have a great many opportunities ahead of us from a variety of sectors and I am delighted to have such a great team supporting Sandycroft’s initiatives.”

Office news includes the joyful marriage of Yard Operative, David Moore who got married on 24th June to his fiancée, Charlotte Taylor. They have been together 13 years and met at their local pub. Charlotte is taking a double barrelled name after their marriage: becoming Taylor–Moore.

And, new starter, Joanne McAlea who joined the team as Operations Account Manager earlier in the year, has settled in well and is contributing to the smooth running of the operations side of the business – taking units off-hire, updating systems and drawings and purchasing materials for the yard team for unit refurbishment before handing over to clients.
