Creating a Space Where the Game Never Stops
For many golf professionals and clubs, the challenge is no longer just attracting players… it’s creating experiences that keep members engaged, generate year-round revenue, and make coaching accessible whatever the weather.
That was exactly the opportunity SwingZone Golf saw. Their vision was ambitious: create a dedicated, premium indoor teaching studio where players of all abilities could practice, compete, and improve on some of the world’s most iconic courses.
With specialist simulator equipment requiring a full 3-metre internal height, reinforced structural elements, premium aesthetics, and a restricted budget, finding an off-the-shelf solution proved impossible. After exhausting other options, SwingZone turned to Portable Offices.
Understanding the Vision Behind the Swing…
From the very first conversations, it was clear this wasn’t simply about delivering another modular building. This was about helping create a destination… something client-facing, premium, and capable of becoming a key feature within the sports club itself.
Working closely with Pete Hanson and the SwingZone team, our Luton depot helped shape a bespoke modular solution that balanced practicality, aesthetics, and performance.
The final design delivered a fully branded 22ft x 15ft teaching studio, purpose-built around the simulator environment and customer experience.
Built Around Performance…
Every detail of the building was designed with the game in mind.
To support high-performance simulator technology, the unit included:
- Reinforced floor sections for specialist equipment
- Strengthened walls for simulator screens, TVs, and fixtures
- Full insulation and climate control for year-round comfort
- A galvanised dual-swing access door
- Composite external cladding for a premium, client-facing finish
- Steel skid foundations, removing traditional jack legs for a cleaner aesthetic
The result is a space that feels less like a temporary structure and more like a permanent part of the club’s future.
Precision Delivery Under Pressure…
Transporting a building of this specification required just as much precision as the design itself.
The unit was carefully split into two sections and delivered via escorted low-loader vehicles, with detailed planning around measurements, sequencing, and installation. Every stage required close communication between all parties — because on a project like this, there’s no room for a missed yard.
From order to handover, the entire project was completed in just 7 weeks.

More Than a Simulator…
Today, SwingZone Golf offers players access to 132 world-famous courses, with sessions running throughout the day and into the evening. Demand has been so strong the simulator is regularly fully booked, even during the winter months.
But perhaps the biggest success has been the wider impact on the club itself. The studio has become a genuine destination… attracting new visitors, increasing footfall, and creating new reasons for members to stay longer and engage more deeply with the club.
