Upgrading a Clubhouse with Style and Simplicity
When Church Broughton Lawn Tennis Club decided to upgrade their clubhouse, they wanted a modern, welcoming space that reflected their growing membership and community spirit.
Working closely with Portable Offices, the team found the perfect modular solution that combined design appeal, practicality, and speed of delivery.
The Journey
The club initially considered the traditional building route. However, during their search for temporary buildings, they came across a high-spec portable unit that caught their eye.
Tennis club committee spokesperson, Anne Allen, shared her thoughts: “We visited Portable Offices’ Derby site, located close to our club, and were truly impressed with some of the portable buildings there. We quickly realised that a portable solution would be more cost-effective, provide instant ‘kerb appeal,’ offer longevity, and a more straightforward installation solution.”
Choosing the Right Solution
Our team, led by Craig O’Regan, worked closely with committee members to find the perfect building to meet their needs. There was plenty of enthusiasm and collaboration throughout the process.
Together, we opted for a 40’x14’ purpose-built cedar-clad unit featuring full-length double-glazed windows. The building was customised to include a large communal area, kitchenette, and washroom — providing a comfortable and contemporary space for members to enjoy.

The club received an incredible response from the local community with Anne also acknowledging the challenges faced during planning and installation, praising the Portable Offices team for their ongoing support:
