Luton in the Spotlight Again…

Luton Depot’s ongoing contracts at local studios have been in focus for the last few months, as the office provides changing and canteen facilities for actors and crew working on the latest productions for the likes of Amazon and Netflix.

During the Covid pandemic, many TV and film productions were put on hold but now, as many have reverted to business as usual, it’s back to treading the boards and the office has been under pressure to secure a full complement of portable buildings for the showbiz and entertainment world.

Luton Sales Manager, Neil Christie, said:
“We have enjoyed an enduring relationship with many film and TV producers and it is really buzzing again at the local film and TV studios.”

Away from the big screen, Luton is involved in providing classrooms and facilities for a growing number of schools. Many of these contracts are to provide extra pupil places but some are to expand the facilities.

Many are bespoke units and Portable Offices has been tasked with providing a turnkey solution.

Portable Offices thrives on making what can often be seen as a technical and unknown experience for our customers as simple as possible, creating seamless processes from start to finish with our years of knowledge and friendly teams.

Little Barn Owls Nursery

A noteworthy contract in the education sector is Little Barn Owls Nursery near Horsham, where a state-of-the-art new build was required for local children.

The contemporary building, finished in cedar cladding with floor-to-ceiling glazed units, has provided flexible accommodation that can be updated to meet the nursery’s growing needs.

There have been a considerable number of small contracts underway and some innovative business sector developments.

The depot has also been working on a number of distribution hubs for an electric vehicle supplier which has steered well away from the usual dealership approach – instead opting for units to provide a ‘customer experience’ with customer and client meeting rooms in some unusual locations such as a dockside sales and marketing suite on the south coast.

Katie Pyzer, who joined the Luton Team as Office Manager just a few months ago, said:
“Portable buildings can provide an ideal solution where a flexible approach and innovation are required. Our team continues to work hard to bring to fruition the vision our many clients envisage when they embark on their portable buildings journey.”
