Derby Depot Responds to School Challenge…

Following the recent RAAC (Reinforced Autoclaved Aerated Concrete) crisis, Portable Offices has stepped up with a raft of temporary classroom solutions designed to assist schools in a smooth interim transition.

Derby is at the forefront of the emergency response – promptly developing additional classroom stock for schools in need around the UK.

Derby’s 28,000 sq metre site featuring the latest state-of-the-art portable buildings has new and refurbished options showcased and ready for hire or sale.

The RAAC crisis has seen more than 100 schools ordered to close or partially close buildings following concerns.

With hundreds more under assessment, this may be just the tip of the iceberg.

Portable Offices’ Depot Manager, Bob Davies, commented:
“With our considerable experience in the education sector, we are in an ideal position to provide prompt and effective support and solutions, we are ready to help any schools in need.”

Portable Offices’ Derby depot is also in the process of providing disaster assistance in the form of temporary classrooms to a school in Bolton destroyed by a fire.

In other areas, repeat business from a major supermarket retailer, a special education services provider, the provision of a canteen and breakout area for one of the world’s top three manufacturers of construction equipment and repeat business for welfare units at East Midlands Railway in Nottingham has kept the depot busy throughout the summer.
