Portable building provides new dance and fitness area for local junior school

Expansion of its dance and physical education programme resulted in the need for additional buildings to accommodate pupils at Marston Green Junior School, Solihull.

But a limited budget hindered the school’s ability to develop a purpose-built sports hall.  Instead, the school opted for a portable modular building.

The striking new single-storey building reflects an ingenious redevelopment of the land in the school grounds and combines functionality with sublimely clean detailing.

Inside, a contemporary feel has been created with bright wall finishes and wooden-effect flooring throughout.

The Portable Offices team worked in tandem with teaching staff to develop a design and room plan that incorporated all the elements necessary to provide an ideal dance and fitness environment for young children.

Sue Lowry, Office Finance Manager of Marston Green Junior School, said: “We purchased the building from Portable Offices for use as an indoor PE / Dance classroom.  It has immediately become an asset to the school being used throughout the day and enabling both of our sports coaches to take classes simultaneously – one in our established sports facility and the second in our new portable building.

“The building not only looks good, but the quality and internal decoration is finished to a very high standard. We have been extremely pleased with it, not only with the building, but the whole service we received from Portable Offices was excellent from start to finish.  The communication, care and professionalism provided by them made this whole experience from planning, building choice, installation and fitting out, an excellent experience.

“I would have no hesitation using Portable Offices again and would definitely recommend the company to colleagues.”

Produced from galvanised coated steel, the new low-maintenance building is designed to withstand both the weather and extensive footfall from pupils.
